I’m slightly biased towards this beauty because its the dress I chose to get married in, and the reason the label began! Initially I ordered a beautiful loose, boho wedding dress with a fitted bodice, low back, shoe string straps and lace sleeves for my wedding dress. But when it arrived 6 months later and I tried it on…. I felt like a pregnant sack of potatoes. The wedding dress itself was beautiful, and comfortable, but it didn’t suit me. I decided to take the elements of the original wedding dress and make something that suited my body shape. The Beaumont dress is nothing like my original wedding dress, but has all the elements I loved! I really wanted to make boho dresses that you could wear a normal bra with, and that suited all body shapes.
Beaumont has a fitted, heavily beaded lace bodice with covered buttons & loops on the left hand side. The lace bodice is pretty low key because it is back in ivory silk satin, so you aren’t overwhelmed by bling! (We are so not into bling). There are georgette shoulder straps (to cover your bra straps) , and lace “sleeves” hand cut from the same lace as the bodice which you can wear either up on your shoulders or down on the arms as sleeves.
Beaumont is an empire line wedding dress, which means the gown is fitted on the bodice, with a loose skirt from under the bust to the floor. The skirt is gently gathered into the bodice, so you won’t be drowned in metres of fabric. The skirt has two layers of silk georgette and is lined in ivory silk satin. Its designed to just touch the floor, and looks good with heels and with flats.
This is a very light wedding dress, and packs well, so would be a good choice for a destination wedding. You can fold it in layers of tissue in your suitcase and be good to go when you unpack.
If you can’t make it down to Kew to try on the sample, let me know and we can arrange a skype! Because of the design, you could confidently order this dress online, choose your size based on your bust size. Please do get in touch if you have any questions, firstname.lastname@example.org
